Little Man's Bathroom
Created with Admarket's flickrSLiDR.
Floral wallpaper...salmon-colored shower tile...mmmmmnnno, I just wasn't feelin' it. Thankfully the floral wallpaper came down without a hitch, but when it came to removing a towel bar, NOT So much. I had no idea wall anchors came in Hang-A-Hammock-From-This-Screw Duty, and I managed to pull the monster of all wall anchors through mine. But it was an opportunity for me to apply my first wall patch.
I am really happy with the room, and as my second start-to-finish paint project I think the design works well enough for a 1-year-old boy (and the occasional guest)!

A Room Fit For A Little Man
Created with Admarket's flickrSLiDR.
Over the last 470 days our little boy has grown into our Little Man. Before he arrived, my sweet mother-in-law painted his room and a dresser we had been using. It was important to me to recognize her attention to detail, effort, patience, and time with a small dedication:
A sister-in-law kindly lent us the crib, and his room came together without much planning - a simple 'circles' and 'squares' theme in blue, tan, brown and white, inspired by HGTV.com.
I expected our simple room would grow into 'Little Man's room' over time with the addition of fabric, furnishings, and lighting. I rearranged the rug and the furniture a few times but struggled with a design for his room that would bring it all together. When I realized our Little Man would be spending so many of his years as a man, and so few as a boy, I decided to run with an idea that for my husband is a source of happy boyhood memories...
...the fort...
The most recent addition is the ladder - the last item standing in a Quilted Bear booth. For just over $20 I HAD to snag it. I also found the wood sign on clearance for a few dollars. With a little paint it will be a perfect 'canvas' for fort signage.
MORE DETAILS AND PHOTOS TO COME.
